The challenge
This sample scenario describes a mid-sized retailer whose templated storefront had grown slow under years of accumulated plugins. Mobile pages took over six seconds to become interactive, and analytics showed the majority of abandoned checkouts happening on mobile.
The approach
The sample approach: rebuild the storefront as a headless Next.js front end over the existing Shopify backend — keeping payments, inventory, and order history untouched while replacing everything the customer actually sees. Static rendering for catalogue pages, edge delivery for global speed, and a checkout flow reduced to the minimum viable steps.
